Clinical experience of the treatment of Hirschsprung¢¥s disease

Abstract
Back ground:Hirschsprung¢¥s disease is a well-known disease with successful results after surgery. Most of the surgical procedure was performed as two or three stage operation. Now a ic. days, early surgery and shortening of stabcd operation is increasing with or without of lap" aroscoP¢¥ ~ ¢¥ ~ assist. And so we reviewed 25 cases of Hirschsprung¢¥s disease, who received definite corrective IR C1: surgery from 1980 to 1998. L

Methods : Consecutive 25 cases were analyzed with medical records for t9 years.

Results : A case(4%) of family history was present, and also a case(4%) of Down¢¥s syndrome
was found. Rectosigmoid lesion have 16 cases(64%) and 8 cases of ultrashort se"ment of Hirschsprung¢¥s disease was present. Operative procedure performed by two stage operation with GIA stapler in a manner of Duhatnel¢¥s operation. In the cases of ultrashort segment Hirschsprung¢¥s disease, endorectal myectomy was done. Post operative enterocolitis was shown in one case(4%), who recovered with conservative treatment. i

Conclusion : We experienced high rate of ultrashort segment of Hirschsprung¢¥s disease according tb the review of domestic reports. And have no cases of one stage operation. Recently, the interval of corrective surgery is shorten, but we have to try more early operations beneath 6 months.
